Do you know someone turning 5 years old on or before July 31? It's time to get ready for Kindergarten registration! Fort Zumwalt will welcome the members of the Class of 2036 and their families in person at 14 elementary schools from 2 - 7 p.m., March 1. Information and paperwork will also be available online at go.FZSD.us/Kindergarten
To celebrate Black History Month, each class made a presentation on a famous African American that they shared on the morning announcements. They also decorated their classroom doors and bulletin boards to help celebrate the contributions of these amazing Americans.
Mrs. Ostmann's 1st grade class took a "field trip" to Schnucks to build background knowledge of grocery stores. They also tried a dragon fruit to help them better understand a selection test on the topic.
Mrs. Lomax's 2nd grade class enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year. A student in the class presented a slideshow to teach the students about the tradition and how it was started. Then he gave each student the traditional red envelope that kids get with one Chinese dollar in it and chocolate coins.
We are excited to see our girls and their guests for the Glow Dance tomorrow from 6-8 pm! Tickets for the event were sent home yesterday. Please bring them tomorrow to check in. We also would GREATLY appreciate any guests that would be willing to stick around for a few moments after 8 pm to assist with clean up efforts! Thank you!
Tomorrow is Early Release Day and we will dismiss at 1:30 PM.
This week is National School Counseling Week! Mrs. Bill, our amazing counselor, helps students dream big by "being mindful of our thoughts, actions, and impact on others. Also, I encourage kids to be their best for themselves."
