This week is "Hour of Code" week and the students enjoyed exploring coding stations and websites in technology class. Hour of code is a global initiative to introduce people of all ages to coding and computer science.

We celebrated Habit 3 Emge leaders at our character assembly this week. These students demonstrate "putting first things first" by staying focused, completing work on time, and spending time on the most important tasks. Way to go!

On this early release day, our teachers are hard at work! Classroom and SPED teachers worked on vertical teaming to compare grade level math standards and special area teachers worked together to analyze Panorama data.
The 5th grade DARE graduation is tonight at 6:30 PM in the South high school auditorium. 5th graders should wear their pink 5th grade shirts and arrive by 6:15 PM.

Today we held our first P.I.G. races of the school year! The two classes in each grade level who had the highest growth toward their goal got to participate in a grade level race. The winning class got to pick a prize pig to keep in their classroom! Congrats to our winners!
There is no school November 27-29. We hope all of our staff members, students and families have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Tracy Hinson from News Channel 5 was here to teach our 3rd graders about weather. The students were so engaged and learned so much about fog, fire tornadoes, and how weather forms. All of the students got to take home "snow" in a tube!
Our school raised $642 for the No Hunger Holiday turkey drive! Dr. Hanks received the most feathers with 410 and the winning class is Mrs. Peters! Thanks to the Emge community for your help to support this wonderful cause!

Today at our character assembly, we recognized Emge leaders who demonstrate Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind. These students set goals for themselves and strive to meet those goals. They are hardworking and dedicated, and inspire other students to do the same. Way to go!
