Red Ribbon Week

October 26-October 28, 2020

Emge Elementary will be celebrating our annual Red Ribbon Week from October 26 - October 28th.  During Red Ribbon Week, students and staff will honor a commitment to live a drug-free and healthy life. We will also focus on motivating kids to make positive choices that impact both themselves and others.

In Remembrance:  The Red Ribbon Campaign started when Federal Agent Enrique Camarena was murdered by drug traffickers in 1985.  He spent his life dedicated to making a visible effort to rid our communities of illegal drugs. In response to his death, communities across the country began wearing Red Ribbons as a symbol of the commitment to a drug free lifestyle.  Red Ribbon Week is dedicated to teaching drug prevention in our school systems and communities.

Below are the daily activities:

Monday, October 26 I pledge to be Drug Free!

Students and staff will wear red to show their commitment to a drug-free lifestyle.

Tuesday, October 27 Team Up Against Drugs!

Students and staff will wear their favorite team's shirt or jersey.

Wednesday, October 28 We Say BOO! to Drugs

Wear a Halloween shirt or colors.
