Kindergarten Book Club

Eligible Students:  K

Do you love books?  Then this is the club for you!  We will meet approximately one Thursday a month throughout the school year to enjoy the Building Block Books which are part of the Missouri Library Association’s student choice program. We will read each of the nominees and do some related crafts and activities for some of the books. At the end of the program each child will vote for his/her favorite one.  Meetings will be held before school 8:00 - 8:45 in room 26.  Specific meeting dates will be sent home at a later date.

S.H.A.R.E. Club (Sharing, Helping and Respecting Everyone)

Eligible Students:  K-5th Grades

Do you like helping others?  Then this is the club for you!  Examples of activities we will work on during meetings are making posters to hang throughout the school, delivering breakfast to staff members, making decorations for our Veterans Day assembly, and organizing a lemonade stand to raise money for cancer research. Children in each grade will be able to join S.H.A.R.E. Club, however, grade levels will be split into two sessions (K-2 & 3-5). Meetings will be held before school (8:00-8:45 a.m.) one Wednesday per month throughout the school year.  Specific meeting dates will be sent home at a later date.

STUDENT COUNCIL

Eligible Students: 4th-5th Grades

Student Council members participate in a variety of leadership activities for the school.  We will elect a president, vice-president to help lead our meetings.  We also elect a secretary to take notes at meetings and Sergeant at Arms to lead the pledge at meetings and the Veterans Day Assembly. The student council will promote service projects, serve as ushers/hosts and support PTO events. We represent our student body by discussing relevant issues with the principal and promote participation within our school community.  We will meet monthly mostly on the second Thursday of the month at 8:00 a.m. We also meet additional dates for projects, but those are optional.  Completing and turning in a form does NOT ensure you are in the club. You will receive a follow-up notice whether you are in the club or on the waiting list.

CHOIR CLUB

Eligible Students: 4th & 5th Grades

The Emge Choir club is a performing group that promotes teamwork, gives a sense of belonging, raises school spirit, and is fun! Students are given the opportunity to apply concepts learned in their vocal music class including singing as an ensemble, reading music and singing in harmony.   The choir meets weekly to prepare for special events inside and outside of school. Any 4th or 5th grader can join. I am looking for students that enjoy singing and want to make music together.  Choir is a year-long club that will meet before school on Fridays from 7:45-8:45 in Music room #30.  The choir will perform several times throughout the year, including a Cardinals game.  Rehearsals will begin on Friday, September 10th.

ART CLUB

Eligible Students:  4th & 5th Grade

Art Club is open to students in grades 4 & 5.  We will meet every scheduled Tuesday before school from 8:00-8:45 a.m. in the art room #5. If you are interested in using art materials including clay, papier-mâché, tempera paint, watercolors, collage and more sign up for our club. Come be creative and have some fun with art!  

NOTE: This club will have two or more sessions depending on enrollment.  Students will receive a schedule with exact dates.

GOOGLE CLUB

Eligible Students:  3rd Grade

Do you love creating projects with technology? Then Google Club is for you!  3rd graders will use Chromebooks and iPads to explore fun, educational apps and websites, as well as create collaborative projects using Google Docs, Drawings, and Slides. In addition to learning to use Google apps, students will practice keyboarding, learn coding, and solve digital breakout puzzles. We will meet weekly on Tuesdays at 8:00 AM.

EARTH CLUB

Eligible Students:  1st Grade & 2nd Grade

Earth Club is a hands-on club for 1st & 2nd graders.  The focus of Earth club is to teach students the importance of taking care of our environment.  We will meet one or two Mondays of every month to clean up around the outside of our school building, beautify the outdoor classroom, and help with our school's recycling program.

SCRAPBOOK CLUB

Eligible Students:   3rd, 4th, & 5th Grade

Scrapbook Club is open to students in grades 3, 4 & 5. We will meet the first Thursday of each month before school from 8:00-8:45 a.m. in the art room #5.  If you are interested in learning scrapbooking techniques and putting together a scrapbook of your own sign up for our club! This club is for both students who know these techniques and new learners. Come be creative and learn how to save your memories and photographs.  Students will receive a schedule with exact dates.

YEARBOOK CLUB

Eligible Students:  4th Grade

Do you like looking at the yearbook and want to help be a part of putting it together?  Then join the Yearbook Club!  We will take many pictures and document them for the whole school to enjoy. This club is limited to 15 students. This is an afterschool club.  We will meet 2nd semester in January and February.  Can't wait to see you there!

DRAMA CLUB

Eligible Students: 5th Graders

The Drama Club allows students the opportunity to explore performance on stage and/or assisting with performances behind the scenes aiding with scene development.  Students will commit to about 3 practices weekly, a dress rehearsal, and a final day and evening performance in front of the school and parents.  We will meet several mornings around 8:00 am for approximately 4-5 weeks prior to the final production.  We will start tryouts in September followed by practices until the fall performance. I am flexible with other clubs!

STAMP COLLECTING CLUB

Eligible students: 3rd and 4th Graders

Attention 3rd and 4th graders! Are you looking for a unique hobby?  Then Stamp Collecting Club is for you! Members of the Stamp Collecting Club will collect and trade stamps during the monthly meetings. You will also learn the history and significance behind many stamps all over the world. We will meet one FRIDAY a month at 8:00 a.m. *Students in this club will need to bring a binder to each meeting for keeping their stamps organized.  All the stamps will be provided by the sponsor.

DIVERSITY BOOK CLUB

Eligible Students: 1st-5th Grader

Diversity Book Club is for any first through fifth grade student wanting to explore topics of diversity such as socioeconomic diversity, ethnic and racial diversity, disabilities, and gender stereotypes through picture books. We will read picture books that focus on a topic of diversity.  Then we will have discussions and complete activities related to our topic and/or book.  Meetings will be held before school (8:00-8:45 a.m.) one Tuesday per month throughout the school year.  Specific meeting dates will be sent home at a later date.

P.E. CLUB

Eligible students: 1st, 2nd, 3rd,  4th and 5th Graders

If you like to learn and play lots of fun active games, check out Emge’s P.E. club!  In this club, students will engage in a variety of fun games and activities.  This club is limited to 20 students per grade level.   It will be broken up into grade levels and will meet on Mondays/Thursdays.  5th ,4th, and 3rd grade will meet the first half of the year and the other grades will meet the 2nd half of the year. All date information will be sent home. 

Note: This is an after school club and will meet 4:00 to 4:55pm.

RUNNING CLUB

Eligible students: 3rd, 4th and 5th Graders

Do you like to run and stay active? Running Club will teach you how to stay healthy while running. Whether you consider yourself a runner or want to start getting active, this club will motivate you with games that will get you active and moving. With a 30 student maximum each session, this club will be split into 2 sessions. Students who sign up will be notified of which session they are enrolled in. We will also participate in an optional 5K run on a select weekend. 

This is an after school club that meets once a week on Tuesdays from 4:00 to 4:55.

TECHNOLOGY CLUB

Eligible students: 2ND Graders

In this hands-on club, 2nd graders will collaborate and solve puzzles using coding robots and Chromebooks. They will explore Spheros, Makey Makey, Osmo, Snap Circuits, Digital Breakouts, and more. Technology club will meet on the second Friday of each month at 8:00 AM. 

NOTE: This club is limited to 12 students per session and may have two or more sessions depending on enrollment.

SPANISH CLUB

Eligible Students:  2nd  & 3rd Grade

Hola, amigos! (Hello, friends!)  Are you interested in learning Spanish? In Spanish Club we will learn how to read and speak Spanish.  We will also learn about the Spanish and Mexican cultures through arts and crafts and games. Our meetings will be twice a month on Mondays from 8:00-8:45 am in room 15. A schedule with exact dates will be sent home.

STEAM BOOK CLUB

Eligible Students:  1st-5th Grades

Do you love stories and being creative?  Then this is the club for you!  In this club, we will read a variety of picture books and complete STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) activities related to each story including science experiments, designing, and building with a variety of materials. Meetings will be held before school (8:00-8:45 a.m.) one Tuesday per month throughout the school year.  Specific meeting dates will be sent home at a later date.

MEDIA PRODUCTION CLUB

Eligible Students: 4th and 5th grades

Are you interested in creating video productions, podcasts, blogs, and/or a website?  Then this is the club for you!  In this club we will become journalists sharing news from around our school in a variety of electronic formats.  Club members will brainstorm ideas, interview students and staff, and produce electronic media under the guidance of the club sponsor.  Meetings will be held after school until 5:00 p.m. each Thursday throughout the school year.  Specific meeting dates will be sent home at a later date.

JUMP ROPE CLUB

Eligible Students: 4th and 5th

Do you want to learn to jump like a Show Me Jumper? Then Jump Rope Club is for you. In Jump Rope Club you will learn to take new and old tricks and put them together in a routine. This club will focus on skill progression while building your stamina .  You will learn to help and work together with other students in group formations.  We will meet Tuesday’s  before school from 8:00-8:45 in the large gym.  Jump ropes will be provided.

FIBERS CLUB

Eligible Students:   4th & 5th Grade 

Fibers Club is open to students in grades 4 & 5.  We will meet the second Thursday of each month before school from 8:00-8:45 a.m. in the art room #5.  If you are interested in learning about different types of fiber arts, this club is for you!  Students will learn weaving, sewing, needle felting, work with handmade papers, and tie-dye clothing. Students will receive a schedule with exact dates.
