About Our School
The school is named in honor of Russell H. Emge, a community and civic leader of O'Fallon, Missouri. A framed portrait of Mr. Emge is located in the main foyer of the school. Mr. Emge was a strong supporter of the Fort Zumwalt School District and led many efforts within the community to assist the district with bond issues and other growth-related issues. In many ways, Mr. Emge could be best described as a dedicated friend of the Fort Zumwalt School District. Among his interests in the school district, Mr. Emge was involved in the following civic activities:
As you can see, it is very important that the school be named for such a civic-minded individual as Mr. Emge. This honor gives testament to his total dedication to the O'Fallon community.
- Served on the first St. Charles County Charter Commission
- Led in O'Fallon industrial development
- Wrote a Development plan for federal housing
- Supported the St. Louis Cardinals for 25 years
- Participated actively in Kiwanis and the Optimist Club
- Served 27 years as Khoury League Director and organizer of youth baseball
- Was an active member of Williams Memorial Methodist Church
As you can see, it is very important that the school be named for such a civic-minded individual as Mr. Emge. This honor gives testament to his total dedication to the O'Fallon community.
